  • Notes
    • Mary Florence was named for both of her grandmothers.

Mary Florence Whitehead is the first child of William Robert and Olivia McMullin Whitehead. She was born the twelfth day of the twelfth month and the twelfth year.

Florence was named Mary Florence for both of her grandmas. Barbara, adored her older sister and always called her "Sister." She described Florence as "kind and gentle with soft liquid brown eyes."

Florence died at the young age of 17 years of a heart defect (Chronic Endocorditis).

She was born in Cleveland, Emery, Utah. She lived in both Hiawatha and Mohrland where her dad worked in the mines.

When her health worsened the family moved back to Cleveland thinking that a lower altitude might help. She died in her dad's arms in Cleveland and is buried there in the family plot.

Elva Davis (McFarlane Wayne) said that she was one of the people who sat up with Florence's body after she died. The family thought her too young, being just 19 and a friend of Florence (and cousin of my grandpa), but she wanted to do it.
