?i?Marie Louise Molt died in 1886 when Lucile was around fifteen years old. Around 1901, Lucile Alger relocated from Connecticut to Great Neck, Long Island. She had a large country home built at 100 Beach Road on ten acres of property. Around 1910, or earlier, Louise Nathalie Grace, the daughter of William Russell Grace, came to live with her - and stayed for perhaps 25 years. The original house and ten acres remained in Lucile's possession, but Lucile and Louise bought adjoining property jointly and had an estate known as the estate of Miss Alger and Miss Grace.?/i?

?i?From a study of phone directories, Miss Grace went back to the main Grace estate around 1935, but she inherited all of Miss Alger's earthly goods after Lucile Alger died of a stroke December 24, 1936 except for $5,000 for Lucile's married friend in Paris, France.?/i?

(The following is from a family group sheet for Lucile Alger and Louise Nathalie Grace - prepared by Barbara Farrand Doxey - 5 Dec 1998.)

?i?In sworn statements, Louise Nathalie Grace states that she was a close personal friend of Lucile Alger for about 25 years. Louise inherited Lucile's extensive holdings except for $5,000 to another firend of Lucile who was married and living in Paris, France. Lucile had owned the 10 acres where the house was in her name alone. 15 adjoining acres were owned as tenants in common with no automatic right of survivorship. At the time of Lucile's death, Louise Nathalie Grace was living elsewhere after years of living with Miss Alger.?/i?
